Testwood designed and animated this promo to showcase a variety of coffee facts, blending a provided script with licensed stock images and custom-created elements for a dynamic explainer video. Animation is a great go-to for clients who don't have video footage they can make use of - custom animated graphics can emphasize the brand and with a good voice-over track, can pull together a story that engages and educates.
The process of creating the animation started with the pre-production phase, with the development of a storyboard, a script and an in-depth description of how each sequence will transition from one to the next.
After pre-production, Testwood moved the design elements into an animation program (Adobe After Effects) and created what's called a rough cut. This means the animation is roughly laid out from beginning to end with a voice-over track, and is reviewed to make sure all the right points are conveyed.
After revisions, the animation is polished and exported as a web-ready file for use on either a website or social media.
