Our Story

Testwood Creative Studio
The name comes from a place. A real one.
Testwood is a nature preserve in the south of England, and the childhood landscape of one half of this studio. Carolyn's mother grew up in Great Testwood Lodge, and Carolyn spent many summers there with her grandparents, learning the history of the land and the people who shaped it. When she started this company in 2013, naming it after that place felt right. It was a way of honoring where she came from, and the family who made it matter.

When Sherry and Carolyn formed their partnership in 2024, the name stayed. Because some things are worth keeping.

Two people. Decades of experience. One very deliberate decision.

Sherry and Carolyn met at a company that specialized in educational publishing and video — and spent years wishing they could work together properly. So eventually, they stopped waiting.

In their early 50s, with combined decades of professional video experience between them, they looked at the job market and made a pragmatic calculation: the world wasn't going to fall over itself to hire two highly experienced women of a certain age. And honestly? That was fine. Because going out on their own — building something that didn't answer to upper management, that ran the way they believed it should — turned out to be exactly the right move.

What they each bring
Sherry spent years in sports broadcasting before leading a video team in educational publishing. She knows how to capture a moment under pressure and how to deliver.

Carolyn started designing live news graphics, built in minutes while producers shouted about breaking stories. That background gave her an instinct for clarity, speed, and knowing what communicates at a glance. From news to web design to motion graphics, she's always been drawn to making complex things feel immediate.

Together, they bring the kind of experience that only comes from having worked in high-stakes, deadline-driven environments for a very long time.

What we believe about video

A lot of production companies lead with their equipment. We lead with our questions. The story is the point. The strategy is the point. We've seen beautifully shot content fall completely flat because no one asked the right questions first, and we've seen simple, honest footage move people to act because the thinking behind it was solid. We're not the flashiest production company out there, and we're fine with that.
